Enugu State Governor Shuts Down Bet9ja Operations Over Legal Violations

Enugu State Governor, Gov. Mbah, has taken action to shut down Bet9ja operations in Enugu State due to recurrent violations of the state's gaming laws.

The Enugu State Government, through the Enugu State Game Lotto Commission led by Princ. Arinz Arum, sealed Bet9ja's head office in Enugu in compliance with a court order issued by the High Court of Enugu State.

The shutdown follows Bet9ja's alleged non-compliance with regulatory requirements, including ignoring warnings, administrative notices, and outstanding fees. The Enugu State Government is committed to enforcing strict compliance with the law in the gaming sector, irrespective of the company's size or influence.

The shutdown was carried out in line with a court order that authorized the Commission to seal and restrict access to Bet9ja's premises in Enugu for failure to remit gaming revenues. The state government continues to enforce compliance across the gaming sector to prevent regulatory breaches.
