Mutfwang Clarifies Tinubu's Electricity Comments in Jos

During an interview on Wednesday, Governor Mutfwang of Plateau State addressed President Bola Tinubu's remarks about the lack of electricity at the Runway Jo Airport during his visit. Mutfwang clarified that while there is no electricity at the airport, it is not accurate to say that Plateau State lacks electricity entirely.

He noted that Plateau State is connected to the national grid and is home to Nigeria's first hydroelectric station. The governor mentioned that the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) owns the airport and acknowledged that discussions had taken place last year regarding a memorandum of understanding to upgrade the airport into an international cargo facility.

Mutfwang expressed confidence that once the upgrades are completed, the electricity issues will be resolved, making it a thing of the past.
