Governor Nwifuru Escapes Death in Convoy Collision

On Wednesday, Governor Franci Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State narrowly escaped a potentially fatal incident when a vehicle collided with his convoy while he was attempting to reverse along the Abakaliki-Afikpo road near Chiboi Junction. The collision resulted in injuries to an advanced rider, who is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

Following the incident, security officials attached to the governor's convoy destroyed the windscreen of the vehicle involved, which was subsequently impounded. Leo Oketa, the governor's special assistant on new media, described the incident as unfortunate and urged road users to remain vigilant and patient when encountering emergency response vehicles.

A video of the incident has circulated on social media, prompting public reactions and discussions about the event. Oketa emphasized the importance of recognizing that short clips shared online may not capture the full sequence of events.
