Cross River Governor Removes Village Head Over Impersonation Scandal

Governor Otu of Cross River State has removed the village head of Mbot Akpa, Chief Tabi, over alleged impersonation. Investigations by the Department of Chieftaincy Affairs revealed that Tabi obtained recognition through false claims and engaged in impersonation.

Tabi was found to be simultaneously leading two clans in different local government areas, which was deemed illegal and destabilizing. The decision to remove Tabi was supported by a petition from five traditional rulers demanding his removal to restore peace in the community.

The government emphasized the importance of peace and stability in the traditional institution.
