Kano Governor Suspends KNUPDA MD Over Irregularities

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has suspended Hauwa Hassan Tudun Wada, the Managing Director of the Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA), due to alleged irregularities in urban planning and development activities. This decision is part of the governor's efforts to sanitize the urban planning sector and address reported violations across the Kano Metropolitan area.

The governor has established a high-powered investigative committee, chaired by Umar Faruk Ibrahim, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), to examine the operations of KNUPDA and issues related to illegal structures and land use violations. The committee will include Dalhatu Aliyu Sani, the Director General of the Kano Geographic Information System, and will work alongside the Kano State Special Task Force on Illegal Structures.

Musa Tanko Muhammad, the Press Secretary to the SSG, confirmed the suspension and emphasized the need for transparency to facilitate an unhindered investigation.
