Adeleke Seeks Canadian Economic Partnership for Osun

On a recent visit, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State urged the Canadian High Commission, led by Deputy High Commissioner Carlu Roja Arbulu, to collaborate on economic initiatives between Nigeria and Canada. This partnership aims to explore trade opportunities and knowledge transfer, particularly in agriculture, mining, renewable energy, and technology.

Governor Adeleke emphasized the importance of building a strong diplomatic and economic relationship, highlighting that Canada and Nigeria share democratic values and mutual respect. He noted that Osun State is ready to facilitate business through a transparent tax system and a free trade zone, which aims to attract Canadian investments.

The governor also mentioned ongoing efforts to resolve local government crises and ensure political stability in Osun State, with a commitment to good governance. The discussions included the potential for joint initiatives following the recent Mining Indaba in Cape Town, South Africa, and the governor expressed optimism that these efforts would deepen cooperation between Osun State and Canada.
