Governor Alia Speaks On Attempt to Remove Benue Speaker Dajoh

Governor Alia addressed the purported attempt to remove Benue State Speaker Dajoh, emphasizing his respect for the rule of law and the separation of powers. The Governor's Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, confirmed the Governor's commitment to upholding critical resolutions passed by the Assembly.

The Governor assured a cordial working relationship with the Assembly and pledged support for lawmakers in their legislative duties. Earlier, four lawmakers were suspended for six months for allegedly destabilizing the Assembly, leading to Speaker Dajoh appointing a new spokesperson.

Additionally, a group of lawyers petitioned the National Assembly over alleged interference in the state's legislative functions. Governor Alia's statement aimed to quell speculation and reinforce the state's commitment to governance and development.
