Niger State Governor Partners with ICAN for Financial Audit to Enhance Transparency

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has partnered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) to conduct an audit of the state's finances. This collaboration aims to correct anomalies, identify areas for improvement in the accounting system, and enhance transparency and fiscal discipline.

The partnership was announced during the 20th Northern Zonal Accountants Conference in Minna. Governor Bago emphasized the importance of accountability in governance and the need to rebuild trust while fostering economic growth.

ICAN President Mallam Haruna Nma Yahaya expressed delight in the partnership. The audit is expected to set an example of transparency and good governance for other states in Nigeria.
