ICAN Urges FG to Curb Proliferation of Professional Bodies

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) raised concerns over the proliferation of professional bodies, urging the Federal Government to halt the registration of new bodies. ICAN's 61st President, Haruna Yahaya, highlighted the challenges posed by the increasing number of professional bodies and emphasized the need to maintain standards in the industry.

Yahaya stressed ICAN's commitment to upholding integrity and accuracy in its operations and called for government intervention to curb the proliferation. ICAN has been instrumental in national development over the past six decades, focusing on accountability, governance, and anti-corruption efforts.

The institute also collaborates with law enforcement agencies and offers training programs to combat financial crimes.
