Umo Eno Wins Football Friendly Governor Award 2025

Pastor Umo Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, was awarded the Football Friendly Governor of the Year 2025 at the 12th Nigeria Pitch Awards, achieving a significant 123 points. This victory places him ahead of Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, who scored 99 points, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who garnered 78 points.

The 24-point lead reflects the recognition of Eno's commitment to football and sports development in Akwa Ibom. His administration has focused on enhancing the state's sports profile, notably by hosting Nigeria's senior national football team, the Super Eagles, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
