New Governor's Lodge to Enhance Engagement in Ogoja

Peter Odei Ongo, the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, emphasized the significance of the new governor's lodge project in Ogoja during an unscheduled site visit. Laid by Governor Bassey Otu in December 2024, the lodge aims to strengthen government presence in the northern senatorial district, which includes Ogoja, Obudu, Obanliku, Yala, and Bekwarra.

Ongo described the project as a crucial step toward expanding administrative reach and enhancing grassroots engagement. The lodge, situated on a 12,000 square meter land, will feature residential accommodations for the governor, office space, a banquet hall, and facilities for staff and guests.

It is expected to facilitate easier access to government officials and promote balanced development across the state. Ongo noted that the lodge aligns with the people's first agenda of Governor Bassey Otu, focusing on equitable development and direct interaction with residents to address their concerns.
