Nigerian Governors Propose State Police to NSA Ribadu

The Nigeria Governors' Forum, led by Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has submitted a proposal for the establishment of state police to National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. This document is now awaiting legislative action from the National Assembly.

During a meeting held in Ikoyi, Lagos, Abdulrazaq emphasized the importance of collaboration among security agencies to effectively tackle insecurity across the country. He noted that 25 governors attended the meeting on short notice, highlighting their respect for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's leadership.

Additionally, Abdulrazaq congratulated President Tinubu on his recent state visit to the United Kingdom, which he described as historically impactful and optimistic for strengthening Nigeria's relationship with the UK. The meeting also included Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila.

Furthermore, Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu is involved in developing a framework for the establishment of state police.
