Tinubu Mourns Nollywood Veteran Taiwo Hassan 'Ogogo'

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed his condolences on the passing of Taiwo Hassan, a veteran Nollywood actor also known as Ogogo. In a statement released on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described Ogogo as a distinguished artiste whose career significantly influenced Yoruba-language theatre and Nigerian cinema over several decades.

He highlighted Ogogo's unique acting style, powerful screen presence, and dedication to his craft, which entertained generations of Nigerians and promoted Yoruba culture. The president noted that Ogogo's body of work would remain a vital part of Nigeria's cultural history and emphasized his role as a mentor to younger artistes.

Tinubu extended heartfelt condolences to Ogogo's family, colleagues, friends, and fans, praying for his eternal rest and urging the creative industry to honor his memory by preserving cultural values. Before his fame, Ogogo worked as a mechanic for 13 years before fully committing to acting in 1994.
