Ground Handling Firms Suspend Services to Max Air

Ground handling companies have suspended their services to Max Air due to outstanding debts. The suspension was disclosed by Mr.

Olaniyi Adigun, chairman of Aghan, in a statement on Thursday. This action marks the first major enforcement move by the association against a defaulting airline.

The decision became necessary after Max Air refused to engage with the ground handling companies to reconcile their accounts. Adigun stated that the airline's prolonged non-payment had imposed a financial burden on the handling firms, leading to the decision to suspend services.

Despite this suspension, Max Air's ongoing transport of Muslim pilgrims will not be affected, as handling charges for these flights are paid directly to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. Adigun warned that failure to settle outstanding obligations could lead to further withdrawal of services, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation.
