APC Group Blames Barau for Gawuna's Exit, Blocks Garo

A faction within the All Progressives Congress (APC), known as the Progress Leader Forum, has accused Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin of being responsible for Yusuf Gawuna's departure from the APC to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The group, led by Hafiz Idri, claims that Barau has undermined Gawuna's chances of securing a political appointment, which contributed to his decision to leave the APC.

Furthermore, the forum is working to prevent Murtala Sule Garo, Gawuna's former running mate, from being nominated as the next deputy governor of Kano State after Aminu Abdulsalam's resignation. Garo previously served as Barau's campaign director during the 2015 and 2019 elections, demonstrating his political loyalty.

Sources indicate that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf plans to appoint Garo due to his strong grassroots appeal, but this move is expected to face significant resistance from influential figures in Abuja, particularly Barau, who is reportedly uncomfortable with Garo's potential emergence.
