APC Chieftain Alleges Presidential Pressure in Kano

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain has claimed that President Bola Tinubu is exerting pressure on Kano Governor Abba Yusuf to appoint Murtala Garo as his deputy governor. This allegation was made by the chieftain, who described the move as a direct assault on the rule of law.

The chieftain warned that appointing Garo, especially following the resignation of former deputy governor Aminu Abdulsalam, would grant him constitutional immunity and stall ongoing criminal proceedings against him. The statement emphasized the need for President Tinubu to allow Governor Yusuf to independently choose his deputy without interference.
