Ondo Group Demands Review of APC Primary Election Results

A group in Ondo State has urged the national leadership of the APC to urgently review the outcome of the recent primary elections, warning that the current results could undermine party unity and negatively impact electoral prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections. The group, which includes members from various communities such as Arogbo and Odo Local Government Areas, argues that the arrangements made during the primary process created a perception of imbalance and disrupted previously accepted zoning arrangements.

They emphasize the need to accommodate particular stakeholder interests to maintain harmony within the APC and avoid grievances among party members. The petition, dated July 2, 2026, was addressed to President Bola Tinubu and APC National Chairman Professor Nentaw Yilwatda, and it expresses confidence in the leadership to consider the appeal.

The group believes that failing to revisit the primary outcome could weaken the party's structure and affect its performance in future elections.
