CSGG Calls for Probe into El-Rufai's Tenure Allegations

The Citizens Support for Good Governance (CSGG) has demanded a comprehensive, independent, and impartial inquiry into allegations surrounding the administration of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, which lasted from 2015 to 2023. This call was made in a statement by Hon. Victor Mathew Bobai, the director of media and public communications for CSGG.

The proposed inquiry should be transparent and evidence-based, addressing allegations of killings, insecurity, human rights violations, and financial controversies. CSGG emphasized the need to investigate violent incidents in Kaduna State, including the 2015 Zaria crisis involving the Nigerian Army and the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN).

The organization insisted that the inquiry should not solely target El-Rufai but also examine the roles of relevant institutions responsible for security. CSGG urged the National Human Rights Commission to investigate credible allegations of unlawful killings and other human rights abuses.

They also highlighted that allegations regarding financial matters should be handled by competent investigative agencies, ensuring that every accused person receives a fair hearing.
