Chisco Group Donates Buses to Ikoyi Prison for Inmate Support

On September 14, 2026, the Chisco Group donated two luxurious buses to the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Ikoyi as part of an initiative to enhance access to justice for awaiting-trial inmates and support their rehabilitation. The buses, capable of transporting up to 100 persons per trip, will be dedicated to transporting inmates to and from court appearances.

Chief (Dr.) Chidi Anyaegbu, the Group's founder and executive chairman, stated that he chose his milestone birthday to address a significant gap in the justice system. The Ikoyi facility currently houses over 3,000 awaiting-trial inmates, with many cases experiencing delays due to insufficient court-transport vehicles.

Chief Obinna Anyaegbu, Managing Director of Chisco Transport Limited and Machine Nationwide Limited, indicated that the Group would monitor the buses' performance over time, tracking indicators such as completed court trips and the impact on missed appearances. Additionally, Machine Nationwide Limited committed to providing automotive maintenance and technical-skills training for eligible inmates.
