Tinubu Expands Army Divisions, Approves 28,000 Recruitments

Citizens Watch for Good Governance has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the expansion of Nigeria's Army Divisions from eight to twelve, which includes the establishment of four new divisions: 5 Division in Makurdi, 9 Division in Ilorin, 10 Division in Jalingo, and 83 Division in Benin City. This expansion is accompanied by the approval for the recruitment of 28,000 new personnel, aimed at bolstering the military's capacity to combat insecurity in the country.

During a briefing in Abuja, the group's Director of Communications, Igwe Ude-Umanta, described the decision as a historic and strategic masterstroke that will redefine Nigeria's security landscape for generations. He emphasized that this initiative serves as a morale booster for the troops, reinforcing the message that the nation supports and cares for its military personnel engaged in the fight against insecurity.
