Groves Advocates for Joshua vs Fury Fight at Wembley

George Groves, the WBA Super Middleweight Champion, has urged organizers to arrange a heavyweight fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury at Wembley Stadium. Groves emphasized the pride of hosting such a significant bout on British soil rather than overseas venues.

He recalled the importance of Wembley in British boxing history, referencing his own rematch against Carl Froch in 2014, which highlighted the stadium's role in major boxing events. Groves mentioned that both fighters have previously fought at Wembley and expressed his happiness to box there, despite acknowledging the allure of international venues like Saudi Arabia and Las Vegas.

Frank Warren, Fury's promoter, confirmed that they are targeting October for the fight at Wembley, contingent on Joshua's upcoming match against Albania's Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Riyadh. Groves remains optimistic that the fight will eventually take place, despite the delays, stating that fans have been waiting a long time for this matchup.
