Police Thwart Bandit Raid in Katsina, Arrest Suspect

On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at approximately 10:00 PM, heavily armed bandits invaded Unguwar Bido and Unguwar Kanawa villages in Dandum Local Government Area, Katsina State. The Katsina State Police Command, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Dandum, received a distress call and swiftly mobilized a tactical team to the scene.

Upon arrival, the police engaged in a fierce gun battle with the bandits, successfully repelling the attack and forcing the assailants to flee. One suspect was arrested during the operation, while two residents sustained injuries and were promptly taken to the nearest hospital for medical attention.

The Commissioner of Police for Katsina State, Ali Umar Fage, commended the DPO and his team for their prompt response and directed a thorough investigation and manhunt for the fleeing bandits. The public was urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.
