Police Foil Bandit Attack in Katsina, Arrest Suspect

On April 28, 2026, at 10:00 PM, the Katsina State Police Command responded to a distress call regarding a bandit attack in Unguwar Bido and Unguwar Kanawa villages within Dandum Local Government Area. Heavily armed bandits had invaded the area, prompting immediate action from the Division Police Officer (DPO) of Dandum, who swiftly mobilized a police team to the scene.

Upon arrival, the police engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle, successfully repelling the attack and forcing the assailants to flee. During the operation, one suspect was arrested, and two residents were injured and subsequently rushed to the nearest hospital for medical attention.

Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fage, commended the gallantry and prompt response of the DPO and his team. He also directed a thorough investigation and manhunt for the fleeing bandit members, urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.
