Gunmen Abduct Six Nasarawa State University Students

On May 6, 2026, at approximately 9:00 PM, six students from the Faculty of Engineering at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, were abducted by unidentified armed men at their off-campus lodging located in Anguwar Ninzo, Gudi, Akwanga Local Government Area, Nasarawa State. The incident was reported to the Nasarawa State Police Command, which confirmed receiving a distress call regarding the abduction.

In response, the Commissioner of Police for Nasarawa State, Shetima Jauro Moham, visited the scene to assess the situation and reassure the university community of the police's commitment to ensuring the safe rescue of the victims. The police have redeployed personnel to the area and are coordinating efforts with various security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, to track down the abductors and rescue the victims unharmed.

The police have urged the public to remain calm and report any information that could assist in the ongoing operation.
