Police Arrest Eight Suspected Kidnappers in Nasarawa

On May 7, 2023, the Nasarawa State Police Command arrested eight suspected kidnappers during a coordinated security operation in Rukubi, Doma Local Government Area. The operation was initiated following a distress report received earlier that day regarding an attack by armed hoodlums on May 6, which resulted in the abduction of two individuals.

The police, in collaboration with local youth and other security agencies, launched the operation that led to the apprehension of the suspects, identified as Adamu Alfa, Muham Alfa, Shuaibu Alfa, Usman Alfa, Ali Alfa, Isa Alfa, Adamu Alfa, Ja Afaru Alfa, and Rugan Alhaji Alfa. During the operation, two AK-47 rifles, four Bajaj motorcycles, and two spent 7.62mm ammunition shells were recovered.

The Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, commended the operation, highlighting the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing and inter-agency collaboration.
