Gunmen Abduct Six Students at Nasarawa University

On Wednesday night, gunmen invaded a hostel at Nasarawa University located in Gudi, Akwanga Local Government Area, abducting six students from the Faculty of Engineering. The incident occurred around 9 PM, prompting a swift response from the Nasarawa State Police Command, which confirmed that efforts to secure the safe release of the students were underway.

SP Rahman Nansel, the police public relations officer, stated that the police, alongside the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other tactical units, launched a joint operation to track down the attackers. The Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Moham, visited the scene to assess the situation and assured the university community of ongoing security operations aimed at ensuring the victims' safe return.

Residents were urged to remain calm and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency as investigations and rescue efforts continued.
