Gunmen Abduct Pregnant Woman in Ondo Community Attack, Security Operations Underway

Gunmen launched an attack on Ayed Community in Ondo State, abducting a pregnant woman named Mari Jesulayomi. The assault occurred on a Tuesday evening, with the armed assailants storming the community near the Federal Secretariat Complex in Akure.

A video showed elderly resident Pa Ogunleye Mese recounting the invasion, where the gunmen attempted to abduct his wife but she managed to escape. The pregnant woman was taken away after the gunmen seized items from a shop.

Security operations led by Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer Abayomi Jimoh have been deployed to rescue the victims. The incident, which occurred around 7:40 pm, also involved the abduction and subsequent release of an 85-year-old woman and the injury of her 90-year-old husband, Pa Ogunleye Mese.

Efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
