Gunmen Abduct Six Worshippers in Ondo Church Attack

On February 25, 2023, at approximately 12:50 AM, six worshippers were abducted from the Celestial Church situated along the Uso-Owo expressway in Owo Local Government Area, Ondo State. The Ondo State Police Command, through its spokesperson DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the incident in a statement released on Wednesday.

Following the report of the abduction, the police collaborated with the Nigerian Army and local vigilante groups to mobilize a response team to the scene. Their coordinated rescue operation resulted in the successful recovery of the kidnapped victims.

Additionally, some suspects linked to the incident were arrested, and investigations are ongoing to ensure the safe return of the remaining victims and to apprehend all perpetrators involved. DSP Jimoh urged residents to remain calm and to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information to assist in the ongoing operations.
