Vigilantes Killed in Plateau Community Night Attack

On a recent night, three members of a local vigilante group were killed in a direct attack on their community in Plateau. The incident occurred around 10 PM, targeting the vigilantes who were on duty to safeguard lives and property.

Mr. Rwang Tengwong, spokesperson for the Berom Youth Moulder, confirmed the attack and expressed concern over the deteriorating security situation in Barkin Ladi, where residents continue to live in fear despite the presence of security personnel.

The slain vigilantes were part of local security arrangements established to protect the community from recurrent attacks that have plagued the area. Tengwong called on both the Plateau State government and the federal government to strengthen security measures in the region by deploying additional personnel to prevent further attacks.

Efforts to obtain a reaction from Captain Polycarp Oteh, spokesperson for Operation Enduring Peace, were unsuccessful as he did not respond to inquiries at press time.
