Gunmen Kill Kano APC Chairman in Rantan Ward Attack

On Sunday night, suspected gunmen attacked Rantan Ward in Bebeji Local Government Area, Kano State, resulting in the deaths of Alhaji Garba Buba, the All Progressives Congress chairman of the ward, and another resident, Sulaiman Zunduma. Hamza Isah Rantan, a local resident, confirmed the attack via Facebook, stating that Buba was shot inside his home and later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital, while Zunduma was killed instantly.

Auwalu Soja, the Kano State APC spokesperson, corroborated the incident and mentioned that an official statement would follow. As of the report's filing, the Kano State Police Command had not released any information regarding arrests or further details about the attack.

This incident occurred less than 24 hours after another attack in Chiromawa, where bandits abducted the Sarkin Noman Kano, Alhaji Yusuf Nadabo Chiromawa, who was later rescued. The recent violence has heightened security concerns among residents, who are urging security agencies to enhance surveillance.
