APC LG Chair Abducted by Gunmen in Kano Town

On the night of the abduction, gunmen stormed Beli town, the hometown of the APC LG Chair, around 10:00 PM, firing shots before taking him away. A local resident reported that attempts to resist the attackers were unsuccessful, resulting in one Almajiri being shot but surviving and receiving treatment.

The assailants fled towards Babbarika village, abandoning three motorcycles during their escape. The following morning, a Fulani man was apprehended in Rogo town after inquiring about the abandoned motorcycles; he is suspected to be either one of the attackers or an informant.

His residence is in Beli town, which borders Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. This incident marks the first attack on Beli town, although similar incidents have occurred in nearby villages.

As of now, there has been no communication from the kidnappers to the chairman's family. This abduction follows a recent pattern of insecurity in rural Kano, where prominent figures have been targeted.
