Gunmen Kill Ondo Traditional Ruler Kehind Falodun

On Wednesday evening, gunmen attacked the palace of Kehind Falodun, a traditional ruler in the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State. The incident occurred around 7:10 PM when approximately six armed men stormed the compound, abducting Falodun.

Despite resistance, he was taken away, and his body was later discovered a few meters from the palace, suffering from gunshot wounds. The Ondo State Police Command, through spokesperson Jimoh Abayomi, confirmed the incident, stating that they received information at 7:50 PM.

In response, police officers, along with local security outfits including Amotekun and local hunters, were mobilized to comb the surrounding bush areas in an effort to apprehend the perpetrators. Abayomi assured the public that the police would take credible action to bring those responsible for this heinous act to justice.

This incident marks a continuation of attacks on traditional rulers in Ondo State, with a similar case occurring in November 2020 when Oluifon of Ifon, Adegok Adebusi, was shot dead.
