Gunmen Kill Pastor and Family in Plateau State Attack

In a tragic incident in Plateau State, gunmen killed Rev. Ayuba Choji, his wife Chundung Ayuba, and their two children, Cyril and Endur Ayuba, during an attack on their village at approximately 11 PM. Community member Martha Dalyop reported that the assailants fired sporadically, forcing residents to flee for safety.

This attack is part of a series of violent incidents that have left the community in fear, with residents expressing their inability to sleep at home or tend to their farms. Rwang Tengwong, from the Berom Youth Moulder Association, described the attack as terrible and indicative of a targeted assault on farming communities.

The gunmen reportedly destroyed several farms, including cabbage, pepper, and maize, in the Kassa area of Barkin Ladi LGA. The recent violence has heightened tensions in the region, prompting calls for security agencies and government authorities to intensify efforts to prevent further killings and destruction of livelihoods.

The Plateau State Police Command spokesperson did not respond to inquiries regarding the incident.
