Gunmen Kill Pastor and Family in Plateau Attack

On Sunday night, gunmen attacked Gako Village in Plateau, resulting in the deaths of Pastor Rev. Ayuba Choji, his wife Chundung Ayuba, and their two children, Cyril and Endur.

The assailants stormed the village around 11 PM, opening fire indiscriminately, prompting residents to flee for safety. Martha Dalyop, a local resident, reported that the late-night assault caused panic throughout the community, leaving people in fear and unable to sleep peacefully.

The Berom Youth Moulder Association, represented by Rwang Tengwong, confirmed the incident and highlighted a pattern of coordinated attacks targeting vulnerable farming communities. These attacks have not only resulted in loss of life but have also destroyed large areas of farmland, exacerbating the hardships faced by local farmers.

The recent violence has heightened tensions in the neighboring Riyom and Barkin Ladi communities, prompting residents to call on security agencies and government authorities to take action to protect their livelihoods and end the killings.
