Accord Party Rejects Police Meeting Over APC Violence

The Osun State chapter of the Accord Party, led by Pastor Victor Akand, has declined an invitation to meet with the Osun State Police Command, demanding the arrest of alleged thugs affiliated with the APC responsible for violent attacks on its members. Akand accused the police of failing to address serious violent incidents, including the killing of a 14-year-old, Ezekiel Olapad, and the destruction of party billboards.

He stated that the police's invitation for a meeting was inappropriate given their inaction regarding the attacks, which have resulted in injuries to several Accord members. Akand emphasized that the police have not made any arrests despite the ongoing violence and described the proposed meeting as a mere photo opportunity.

He expressed that the party would not engage with the police until they demonstrate a commitment to fair law enforcement and accountability.
