Osun Police Investigate Shooting of Accord Chairman

On Thursday, the Osun State Police Command announced an investigation following an attack on Asimiyu Ajibola, the Accord Chairman for Osogbo Local Government Area. The incident occurred on Wednesday at approximately 9:50 PM when two armed men on a motorcycle reportedly attempted to murder Ajibola.

After receiving a distress call, the police mobilized a tactical team to the scene, where they evacuated Ajibola to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, where he is currently in stable condition and responding positively to treatment. The police have initiated a pursuit of the suspects and recovered evidence from the scene for forensic analysis.

Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gotan has ordered a high-powered investigation into the incident, directing relevant units to deploy all available resources to identify those responsible and ensure their arrest and prosecution. The public has been urged to remain calm and assist the police with credible information.
