Gunmen Kill One, Kidnap Five in Abuja Community Attack

In the early hours of Wednesday, gunmen stormed the Ajayapi community in Abuja, resulting in the death of one resident and the abduction of five individuals, including an 11-year-old boy. The attack occurred around midnight, with eyewitness Ameh confirming that she heard gunshots around 12:28 AM.

She reported that the gunmen were young men and that police officers arrived at the scene shortly after the attack, around 1:26 AM. Victims included a woman who sold garri in a local market and had recently moved to the area, as well as her husband, who had gone abroad.

The attackers reportedly made off with a bag of rice taken from the victims' home. Following the incident, residents expressed fear and chose to gather on the streets, discussing the attack and deciding to wait until daybreak to leave their homes for safety.
