Gunfire Erupts at Oyegun's Home Amid ADC Crisis

Gunshots erupted at the residence of former Edo State Governor John Odigi Oyegun as tensions escalated within the Edo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The incident occurred during a scheduled meeting intended for party leaders, including Sir Rowland Owi and Sunni Aguebor.

Discontent among party members arose when they felt excluded from the meeting, leading to an influx of individuals into Oyegun's compound. Owi, addressing journalists, emphasized the need for the ADC's national leadership to respect its members and criticized Oyegun for not supporting the party adequately.

He noted that meetings had been postponed multiple times, causing frustration among members, particularly in Edo South. The situation escalated into a violent confrontation, resulting in gunfire, although the identities of the assailants remain unknown.
