Chaos Erupts at Edo ADC Meeting, Police Step In

A leadership meeting of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Edo State descended into chaos, prompting police intervention. The meeting, held at the residence of former national chairman John Odigi Oyegun, was reportedly intended to address divisions within the party.

Senior members, including Sir Rowland Owi and party chieftain Sunni Aguebor, expressed dissatisfaction over their exclusion from the meeting. Tensions flared as attendees gathered outside the residence, leading to a standoff with security personnel.

Owi accused Oyegun of sidelining long-standing party members and failing to recognize individuals who were not invited. The situation highlighted ongoing issues within the party, particularly in Edo South, where previous meetings had been postponed multiple times.

Owi called for the national leadership of the ADC to address these matters to prevent further divisions and strengthen the party's structure in the state.
