ADC Leaders Attacked in Edo State by Suspected Thugs

On a recent date, a violent incident unfolded in Edo State, where leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), including Chief John Odigi Oyegun and Peter Obi, were attacked by suspected thugs. The assailants invaded the ADC secretariat and disrupted a gathering of dignitaries, resulting in injuries, particularly among women, and damage to several vehicles.

Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the national coordinator of the Obidi Movement, raised concerns about armed men trailing ADC chieftains.

The Edo State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that no casualties were reported and that investigations were ongoing. The attack follows a series of violent incidents in the region, with accusations directed at the All Progressives Congress (APC) for allegedly sponsoring thuggery to intimidate opposition parties.

The ADC and other political figures, including the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), condemned the attack and called for thorough investigations into the circumstances surrounding it.
