Ogunfuwa Advocates Peace and Restructuring in Football

Following the resignation of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, Ambassador Kemi Ogunfuwa, a prominent figure in the Nigerian football supporters’ movement, urged for peace, unity, and reconciliation among stakeholders. Ogunfuwa emphasized that the current situation should not exacerbate divisions within supporters’ clubs and presents an opportunity for all stakeholders to initiate a comprehensive restructuring of the supporters’ clubs system.

She highlighted the importance of a well-organized and professionally managed structure for supporters, which is essential for the growth of Nigerian football. Ogunfuwa called for dialogue among supporters’ clubs, football administrators, and relevant stakeholders, advocating for a restructuring process that includes all genuine supporters’ clubs and establishes clear standards for membership and participation.

She stressed that supporters should play a significant role in football development beyond merely attending matches, asserting that their involvement is crucial for the future of the Fans’ movement.
