Gwagwalada Council Launches Scholarship for 50 Students

The Gwagwalada Area Council, under the leadership of Chairman Mr. Kasim Mohammed, has initiated a scholarship scheme aimed at supporting students facing financial difficulties. The program was launched with the presentation of admission letters to 50 beneficiaries.
Mohammed stated that the initiative reflects his administration's commitment to investing in education and creating opportunities for youth. Initially, there were plans to sponsor students to study abroad; however, due to economic realities, including financial obligations and the depreciation of the naira, the council opted to partner with a local university in Abuja that meets international education standards.
The limited number of beneficiaries was chosen to ensure effective monitoring and support. Mohammed expressed hopes for future expansion of the scheme and indicated that additional beneficiaries, including postgraduate students, may be considered.
He emphasized the importance of academic excellence and discipline among the beneficiaries and encouraged parental support throughout their educational journey.
