Gwarzo Withdraws, Endorses Barau in Kano Senate Race

Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, a former Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, has officially withdrawn from the senatorial race in Kano North, endorsing Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin. This development was confirmed by Sanusi Batur, the Director General of Media for the Kano Government House, following a high-level meeting held at the Kano Government House on Tuesday night.

The reconciliation effort was brokered by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, aiming to unite the All Progressives Congress (APC) in preparation for the upcoming electoral season. Gwarzo expressed his loyalty to the party and his readiness to support Jibrin in the forthcoming polls.

The meeting included significant figures such as Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo, former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and other key members of the Kano APC, indicating a strategic move to consolidate the party's strength and address internal rivalries that could threaten its base.
