ADC Convention Kicks Off in Abuja Amid Venue Challenges

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) convention began in Abuja, with delegates arriving despite facing challenges related to the venue. The event, referred to as a "rainbow event," was initially planned to take place at Eagle Square, but this was reportedly denied.

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, refuted claims suggesting that the party made an official request for Eagle Square, clarifying that the declaration for the venue was for the Velodrome space within the National Stadium, which is not under his jurisdiction. Delegates from various parts of Nigeria, identifiable by their colorful attire bearing the party logo, expressed their aspirations for leadership.

Ismaila, representing the northern part of the country, voiced concerns about the challenges faced by the party. The ADC is working to overcome initial frustrations and has ratified decisions made during a previous meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC).
