FIFA and CAF Meet Nigerian Football Stakeholders in Abuja

A meeting is currently taking place in Abuja involving FIFA and Confederation of African Football (CAF) delegations with former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) presidents, secretaries-general, and leaders from the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN). This high-level engagement, which began on Tuesday, aims to address the crisis in Nigerian football following the resignation of former NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, members of the federation’s Executive Committee, and General-Secretary Mohammed Sanusi.

Prominent figures in attendance include former NFF presidents Sani Lulu and Aminu Maigari, former NFF vice-president Senator Obinna Ogba, and former secretaries-general Sani Toro, Barrister Musa Amadu, and Fanny Amun. The presence of SWAN leadership, including National President Isaiah Kemje Benjamin, Secretary-General Ikenna Okonkwo, and Deputy Secretary-General Samuel Ahmadu, adds significant journalistic insight to the discussions.
