Tinubu Mourns Alhaji Ganiyu Kolapo Oseni's Passing

President Bola Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaji Ganiyu Kolapo Oseni, a distinguished elder statesman and former Lagos politician. Tinubu credited Oseni with introducing him to politics and supporting him throughout his career.

He described Oseni as a visionary leader and a warrior for democracy, highlighting his commitment to public service and his significant contributions during Nigeria's struggle to restore democracy. Oseni served as the Secretary of the Unity Party of Nigeria in Lagos during the Second Republic and was instrumental in launching Tinubu's political career.

Despite relocating to the United States in 2022, Oseni remained supportive of Tinubu's presidential ambitions. Tinubu emphasized that Oseni's legacy would endure through his worthy children and expressed gratitude for Oseni's service to Lagos State and Nigeria.

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu also extended her condolences, wishing Oseni eternal rest.
