Scott Bemand Extends Contract as Ireland Women's Rugby Coach

Scott Bemand, the head coach of the Ireland women's rugby team, has signed a contract extension that will keep him in the role until the conclusion of the 2029 Women's Rugby World Cup. This three-year deal was finalized in August 2023.

Bemand has successfully led the team to significant achievements, including winning the inaugural WXV3 title in Dubai and securing a third-place finish in the Women's Six Nations. Previously, he guided the team to the quarter-finals of last year's World Cup, where they faced England.

Bemand expressed his privilege in signing the contract and emphasized the commitment to the squad and the program's future. David Humphreys, the performance director of the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU), praised Bemand's dedication and the focus on developing young players as they build towards the 2029 World Cup in Australia.

Bemand is set to announce the squad for this year's Women's Six Nations on Wednesday.
