Heavy Rainstorm Leaves 500 Homeless in Zamfara

In Zamfara, heavy rainfall accompanied by a strong windstorm has rendered no fewer than 500 people homeless. The downpour lasted for ninety minutes and caused extensive destruction in Gusau and surrounding areas.

Reports indicate that the storm led to the destruction of numerous houses, shops, and properties, including kiosks along the streets. Many residents are now preparing to relocate to various government buildings as temporary shelters while they await repairs to their damaged homes.

Victims, particularly from the Bungudu area near Gusau, expressed their sadness over the recurrent devastation caused by annual rainfall and storms, criticizing the government's negligence in addressing the issue. Ibrahim Bala, a victim, was reported to be in tears while speaking about the situation, highlighting the lack of assistance from authorities, who have not provided any financial support to those affected.
