Heineken Appoints Rafael Oliveira as New CEO

Heineken announced the appointment of Rafael Oliveira as its new CEO on Tuesday, following the unexpected resignation of Dolf van den Brink in January. Oliveira, who previously served as the chief executive of coffee giant JDE Peet, will take the helm of Heineken, pending shareholder approval.

The company is currently facing challenges, including a nearly one percent decline in beer sales in the first quarter, attributed to a complex economic climate and rising energy prices. In February, Heineken revealed plans to cut 6,000 jobs as part of a strategy to accelerate growth and drive product innovation.

Peter Wennink, the chairman of Heineken's supervisory board, expressed confidence in Oliveira's ability to build on the company's strong foundation and continue its long-term growth journey.
