Heirs Insurance Group Launches Technology-Driven Hackathon for University Students

Heirs Insurance Group has initiated the Heirs Insur Hackathon, a technology-driven innovation program aimed at empowering university students to shape the future of insurance. The hackathon, open to students from universities, polytechnics, and tertiary institutions, challenges participants to design solutions for real-world insurance challenges across the value chain, including customer experience, claims processing, underwriting, distribution, data operations, and efficiency.

The competition registration closes on February 16, 2026, with the winning team set to be announced at the grand final in April. The hackathon offers a total prize pool of N9 million to be awarded to the top three teams.

Peac O. Philip, the Chief Digital Officer of Heirs Insurance Group, emphasized the importance of engaging young people in building innovative solutions to contribute to an efficient and inclusive financial system in Africa.
